Personally, Lockdown was a period of freedom from teaching, making work for exhibition and a busy daily life. Time to oneself without the fear of missing out. A completely different body of work began to grow. Whereas much previous work was white, 3D and made of plaster, bright colours now expressed the joy and lightness I felt, and the 3D work became 2D. And I, a sculptor/photographer, started to paint for the first time in a variety of media. Freed from the judgements of one’s critical inner eye, a new riotously colourful creativity became possible.
