Kayley Holderness

My studio is usually full of people. It’s fun, loud, energetic and always busy! In contrast, the quiet of Lockdown gave me an opportunity to focus and breathe. In these calm hours, a new series of coiled work came to life. Building slowly and patiently, I was able to create balanced, symmetrical forms, whilst responding to the clay’s natural tendency to bend and stretch. The forms are unassuming and pure, bold in their simplicity and a joy to touch.
