Pamela Thorby

Coming at a time where touch is a rarity, it feels intimate and optimistic to translate my feelings of thankfulness for the women in my life who are my close friends and mentors, into ceramic work. During Lockdown I worked intensively towards a collection of thrown stoneware to partner with my sculptural hand built porcelain forms, the concentrated discipline of dailywheel practice providing meditative solace and structure in extraordinary times. I aim to translate elements from my former career as a musician into ‘visual music'  in clay.
