My making is a solitary practise, I spend a lot of time on my own: it is what I know and enables my work. But Lockdown felt strange and unfamiliar. I couldn’t make any work. I felt too disconnected from the world. Like being a cog without a wheel. I made ‘Knot’ before Lockdown. I generally don’t think much when I am making, but I had been looking at Borromean rings for their interlinking form. They are said to represent strength in unity, which feels especially important now.
