Working in Lockdown meant limited materials, limited space and limited time. Oddly, this worked for me. Catching a snippet of time, hearing the family bustle while I worked, became things I enjoyed. I changed my habits and found it freeing to focus on the few materials I had. Worries about the virus, my family and the (re)awakening of racial injustice were processed while I concentrated on doing something tangible. Working with my hands, some stretchers, some copper pipe and mod roc bandage, I have found myself with a body of work that really excites me.
